''It's good to find a hobby that absorbs you,
and makes you look forward to the next week with joy,
instead of gloomily counting the days''
- Cecelia Ahern
Photography has always been with me.
Living with my family in Norway, one of the most beautiful places in the world, I have unlimited opportunities to travel and discover extraordinary corners of the country. Photography had fascinated me for years, yet my camera lay forgotten on a shelf for a long time. It was only during the pandemic that I realized the moment had finally come to start using it seriously.
That decision turned out to be a bull’s-eye. I caught the photography bug, and my passion grew with renewed intensity. Photography became not just a hobby, but an important part of my life. Wanting to develop consciously and deepen my knowledge, I completed the Foto-Oko Academy, which allowed me to better understand photography, both from a technical and an artistic perspective and to express myself even more fully through images.
Thanks to photography, I can now discover new places and plan further journeys. There is nothing more exciting than capturing the beauty of nature and extraordinary landscapes through the camera lens. While wandering through picturesque Norway, I feel that photography allows me to express my inner view of the world. Through the lens, I can share emotions and impressions with others, while at the same time preserving fleeting moments forever.
Over time, my passion began to influence my husband as well. Photography, which was initially only my world, became our shared space. I infected him with attentive observation, patience in waiting for the right light, and the joy of capturing the perfect moment. Today we travel together, exploring Norwegian roads and photographing places that move us. Our shared photographic journeys have become not only a hobby, but also a beautiful way to spend time together, share emotions, and create lasting memories.
For me, photography is more than documenting travels. It is a way to gain a deeper understanding of the world around me. Each photograph is a small story, an account of a particular moment, place, and mood. It is also about discovering new perspectives and seeing familiar landscapes in an entirely different way. Through photography, I can stop time and preserve memories forever.
Photography has always accompanied me, and I am certain it will remain with me for the rest of my life.
